At GM SANGANI Junior School, the Play Stage Programme offers a carefully curated introduction to school life for children aged two to three—a time when little ones gently transition from babyhood into confident exploration of the world around them. We honour this tender stage by providing a calm, nurturing environment where every child feels secure, valued, and deeply cared for.
In Early Years - 1, children begin their exciting journey of structured learning. At this stage, our focus is on helping young learners settle into the classroom environment with confidence and joy. Through play-based and inquiry-led activities, children develop foundational skills in communication, language and early literacy, number sense, physical coordination, creativity, and social-emotional understanding. They explore their world with curiosity, build relationships, gain independence, and develop early problem-solving skills.
In Early Years - 2, learners build on the foundations laid in Early 1, becoming more confident and expressive in their learning. Activities are designed to deepen language and communication skills, strengthen early mathematical thinking, and enhance creative expression through art, music, and movement. Children are encouraged to show initiative, collaborate with others, and develop a sense of responsibility and independence. Hands-on experiences help them connect ideas, observe patterns, and express themselves in richer ways.
Early Years 3 supports children as they prepare for their transition into primary school. At this stage, learning becomes more structured while still remaining joyful and developmentally appropriate. Children refine their communication and literacy skills, extend mathematical understanding, and explore the world around them with increased confidence. They develop resilience, critical thinking, and a sense of ownership in their learning. Rich, play-based experiences continue to support their physical, social and emotional growth, laying strong foundations for success in both Cambridge Primary and future schooling.
